Service is the outward expression of our communal love. Through our service, inspired by our spiritual growth and connection, we build relationships and translate wisdom into our care for ourselves, our communities, and our Earth.
Senje Wekoye Global Community focuses on mothers and children and their communities, in service to our global descendants. Connecting globally, nurturing local leadership and initiatives, for the wellbeing of us all.
The "Senje" Tradition: Named after the Luhya heritage, a "Senje" (Auntie) is a cornerstone of the family who acts as a protector, teacher, and communal mother.
Kinship Ties: We serve as a bridge to community-based organizations, empowering local leadership and fostering direct lines of relationship rooted in mutual respect.
Sacred Symbols: Our service is symbolized by the mother and child, representing protection and growth, and the pot and broom, which signify the essential work of nourishment and care.
Community leadership is a sacred invitation to nurture our collective spirit through a supportive framework of shared work.
Developmental Pathways: Connecting elders and learners in theological and vocational discernment, cultivating individual and communal spiritual identities, theologies, in communal service.
Professional Training: Workshops and small groups to expand leadership and vocational skills, in communal faith leadership.
Endorsement & Credentialing: Facilitating mentorship and support for those preparing for ordination or honing diverse skills for multi-venue service.
This network links clergy and spiritual leaders to one another and to the communities calling for their unique gifts. Through our value of Obulala (unity), we offer each other mentorship and collaboration, serving together, this wider community of Earth.
